About Me
Mr. Chiaravalli (pronounced Kiara-vah-lee) has been teaching High School Math and Language Arts in Haslett Public Schools since 2004.
My wife and I have 7 children, including our twin boys born in December of 2007, and our newest addition, Francis, born in November of 2013.
I grew up in East Lansing attending St. Thomas Aquinas and then graduating from East Lansing High School. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Later, I received my Master of Arts in Education (Curriculum and Instruction), also from the U of M. I was the first U of M-Ann Arbor student to receive the Consortium for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching with Technology (MCOATT) certification for my work in integrating technology into the curriculum. In May of 2011, I received my second Master of Arts degree--this time in K-12 Educational Administration--from Michigan State University.
My main hobbies are spending time with my family and writing music/poetry. In recent years, I have taken up rapping (my rap name, given me by a former student, is "The Relic") and have collaborated with students (under the syndicate name "One Loss Team") to write and produce music.
